Giveaway : King Of Thorns by Mark Lawrence (signed hardcover)

The wonderful author Mark Lawrence is providing me a copy of King Of Thorns to give away.
I am always excited when a new book of The Broken Empire series comes out to life.

The second book in the Broken Empire series, Lawrence takes his young anti-hero one step closer to his grand ambition.

To reach greatness you must step on bodies, and many brothers lie trodden in my wake. I’ve walked from pawn to player and I’ll win this game of ours, though the cost of it may drown the world in blood…

The land burns with the fires of a hundred battles as lords and petty kings fight for the Broken Empire. The long road to avenge the slaughter of his mother and brother has shown Prince Honorous Jorg Ancrath the hidden hands behind this endless war. He saw the game and vowed to sweep the board. First though he must gather his own pieces, learn the rules of play, and discover how to break them.

A six nation army, twenty thousand strong, marches toward Jorg's gates, led by a champion beloved of the people. Every decent man prays this shining hero will unite the empire and heal its wounds. Every omen says he will. Every good king knows to bend the knee in the face of overwhelming odds, if only to save their people and their lands. But King Jorg is not a good king.

Faced by an enemy many times his strength Jorg knows that he cannot win a fair fight. But playing fair was never part of Jorg’s game plan.

  1. Great!! Thanks for the giveaway!!

  2. You are asking someone who is ENTIRELY too indecisive. I enjoyed The Sward of Truth Series a lot, and while some of the characters are definitely my favorites, the books themselves are not. Outlander is utterly fantastic, but it's fantasy elements are minimal. There's Eragon, and the Heir Chronicles (minus the ending), and so many choices! Lol. Like I said, I'm indecisive ^_^

    Great giveaway, thank you!

    1. Lovely.
I have to point that The Sward of Truth Series was about to be one of my favorites but reading through the books (after watching the series) was disappointing...

    2. Hahaha, I read the books first. Could not stand the TV show. It was just... wrong (even though I want it to come back, but maybe with a better script). The books end at 6 for me. The last in the series are just not very good, despite how much I love the characters.

  3. There's so many wonderful fantasy works I've read in recent years. Probably the book that kick-started my reading of modern fantasy was Patrick Rothfuss's 'The Name of the Wind'. It still remains my top fantasy novel. Daniel Polansky's 'Low Town' and Mark Lawrence's 'Prince of Thorns' are close seconds though.

  4. My favorite fantasy novel of all time is THE SLEEPING DRAGON by Joel Rosenberg; yeah, it's from the early 80s, but it is an awesome book and full of symbolism!

  5. Actually, Prince of Thorns is my favorite fantasy book of all time, followed by The Lies of Locke Lamora, and Game of Thrones.

  6. The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson

  7. Mmm. The two towers. Old one but good one!

  8. Mmm. The two towers. Old one but good one!

  9. I take pleasure in, lead to I found just what I was taking a look for.

You've ended my 4 day lengthy hunt! God Bless you man. Have a nice day. Bye

  10. Too many to list, each for different reasons, Prince of Thorns being in that list as well, still got King of Thorns to read yet...

  11. Thanks for the giveaway :)

  12. The series A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE by George RR Martin.

  13. Today, I'll say A Song of Ice and Fire. Tomorrow, it could be something different.
